Adam held a quiet devotion to Hashem; a steady grounding in his life. His connection to tefillin was an expression of his Jewish faith, gratitude and trust.
In his honor our intention is to help others fulfill this sacred mitzvah.
What Is Tefillin?
Tefillin (תפילין) are black leather boxes that contain handwritten parchment scrolls. A set includes two; one for the head and one for the arm. Each has three parts: the scrolls, the box and the strap.
Why Tefillin?
The Torah instructs Jewish men to place tefillin on the head and the arm every weekday, in fulfillment of the verse (Deut. 6:8), “You shall bind them as a sign upon your hand, and they shall be for a reminder between your eyes.”
Putting on tefillin connects you to Hashem, to your values and to generations who came before you. These straps connect you to G-d, to your past, to your future and to your people.
